One of the biggest differences between an expedition ship and some of the bigger luxury cruise ships is the expert team of marine biologists, ornithologists, glaciologists and historians onboard; they enrich daily outings with talks and daily recaps. Still, its program is lighter than what you'll find on the expedition vessels of more established players in the space, such as Lindblad Expeditions, Silversea Cruises and Quark Expeditions. As is typical for expedition ships, there are no truly giant suites on World Navigator of the sort found on some traditional luxury ships such as Regent Seven Seas Cruises' Seven Seas Splendor (where a single suite measures more than 4,000 square feet). Giant suites like that typically only are found on vessels much larger than World Navigator.

There's a wide selection of included beers on World Navigator as well as a number of included wines. There's also an extensive list of extra charge wines available by the bottle. Closets in the rooms have specialized hanger rack systems with pull-down devices that will bring the hanging rack down, making it reachable for someone in a wheelchair. There also are emergency call buttons next to the beds that aren't found in the rest of the ship's cabins. Atlas Ocean Voyages operates international, multi-country itineraries where passports always are required.

Paula's Pantry (midship Deck 4) is where you'll find convenient and freshly prepared breakfast foods, a light lunch, snack items, and specialty coffees and teas throughout the day. The Dome Observation Lounge also offers pastries and coffee in the morning for breakfast. Guests are treated to local specialties, such as Argentinian beef (sourced in Ushuaia, Argentina), while sailing in Antarctica or unique dishes like risotto with freshly shaved black truffles. One evening we dined on sumptuous lobster, and for the Gala Dinner, one of the choices was black Angus Chateaubriand. On the morning buffet, guests will find raw honeycomb and freshly ground nut butter to slather on the excellent selection of freshly baked loaves of bread and a wide selection of hot and cold dishes.

Just be warned that, given the ship's small size, you'll have to make quite a few revolutions of the jogging track to run a mile. The Atlas lounge is home to an "Apres Sea" happy hour each day -- the ship's at-sea version of the end-of-the-day Apres Ski get-togethers that are common at ski resorts. Bathrooms in all categories of World Navigator cabins are lined with marble and feature upscale L'Occitane toiletries. For now, Atlas only is operating a single ship, the 196-passenger World Navigator.
Not so successful, at least on our sailing, was the complimentary culinary excursion. Billed as "The Joy of Pesto" and described as a tasting/demo, the event in Porto Venere was held on a passenger ferry, that oddly stayed at dock. Again, the space wasn't set up well for anyone who wasn't right in the front row to see, seating was cramped and the resulting atmosphere was decidedly not joyful (a shame, considering both how gorgeous Porto Venere is and how delicious pesto can be). Specialty menu items from their restaurants were also served in the main dining room one night.

The ship also plans to operate with an "open bridge" policy where passengers can enter the bridge at times to see how it works (though this policy has not been implemented so far). Other venues on board include a small but enticing L'Occitane spa with two treatment rooms, a relaxing lounge area and a sauna; and a small fitness center. There's also a jogging track on the very top of the ship, as well as some outdoor fitness equipment.

The itineraries are set to begin on October 2025 and run through March 2026, with options ranging from seven to 18 nights. The majority of the sailings depart from Ushuaia, while some voyages are scheduled to embark from Punta Arenas, Chile. The pool grill 7 Aft does double duty as Josper's Grill in the evening.
A nice feature is that the glass shower door has a latch, so it doesn't swing open. Other stateroom amenities include terry bathrobes, slippers, and luxurious Egyptian cotton linens from the Portuguese brand, Lameirinho.
